Consent Manager

A person registered with the Board who enables a Data Principal to give, manage, review and withdraw consent through an accessible, transparent and interoperable platform.

Section 2(g); Section 6(7)–(9); Rule 4

What it means

Section 2(g) defines a Consent Manager as a person registered with the Board who acts as a single point of contact so a Data Principal can give, manage, review and withdraw consent through an accessible, transparent and interoperable platform. Section 6(7)–(9) situates that role in the consent framework; Rule 4 addresses registration and obligations. Board registration is part of what the term means under the Act — not optional branding.

Worked example

A Data Principal might use a registered Consent Manager platform to review which Fiduciaries hold consent for marketing and withdraw one relationship without visiting each Fiduciary’s site. That interoperability is the statutory idea, and it depends on Board registration conditions under Section 6(9) and Rule 4 — not on a vendor simply naming itself a “consent manager” in marketing.

In practice

Separate three ideas in planning docs: (1) the statutory Consent Manager role, (2) a Data Fiduciary’s own consent tooling, and (3) marketing phrases that reuse the words. ConsentifyAI is not described here as registered under Section 6(9). Watch Rule 4 commencement before assuming the registration ecosystem is fully live.
